Finding Ingredients The high levels of importation and exportation of local Nigerian food ingredients across continents is an indication that Nigerian food is gaining popularity around the world. This may be due, in part, to the increasing number of Nigerians living in diaspora and an equally increasing number of foreign nationals taking up employment in Nigeria. Raw Nigerian food ingredients can be found in all major African food markets in Europe, Asia and America. There are also a number of food suppliers with internet websites that provide a home delivery service. There are also catering services that provide excellent services for events and parties. It is interesting how Nigerain food is gaining significant popularity abroad. Restaurants can be found in all major town or city centres. Some restaurants are able to successfully create the right ambience for that true African eating experience. Finding ingredients can be tricky and would sometimes require experience. Most large city centres have African food stores which stock authentic spices and condiments. Most of these are sold under brands and there is a growing number of options. Larger super stores such as Tesco also stock some of these ingredients, usually on the Exotic food or Foods of the World aisles.
